Paradigm

This was a project for my metal fabrication class. (make a perfect cube, then make art out of it) I drew inspiration from horror movies such as Pandorum, Saw, and Alien, trying to bring a sense of horror and mystery to this piece. These photos do this instillation no justice. Without physically being in the tiny room in which this piece was installed, with the noise of the ventilation system and only the light from the piece itself to illuminate the darkness, takes away from the over all effect.

Overall this was a wonderful project, giving me a chance to work with a new medium and learn various techniques to deal with metal as well as explore ways to manipulate materials as I see fit to achieve the overall effect I want.
